From the pictures, it can be guessed why these houses were built about 10m above the water level. From June to October, the rainy season fills the Mekong River and the adjacent Tonlé Sap Lake. With an excess of water, the lake floods adjacent rivers and streams. Trees 🌳 Python 🐍 Crocodiles 🐊 and Monkeys 🐒 then become a harmonious "water flatshare".
