Don Det - one of the 4000 islands

प्रकाशित: 30.01.2019

We have rented a nice accommodation on Don Det for four nights, we are staying in a small bungalow right by the Mekong River and extensively enjoy the balcony and the view.

The island is not big, yesterday we walked around it in two hours. There is sparse agriculture and a freakish tourism, which is mostly distributed in simple wooden houses with hammocks on the veranda. With 40 $ per night including breakfast, our facility is by far the most expensive. But it's a beautifully relaxed life here. Today we rode bikes to the neighboring island, not really a nice ride (oh how I appreciate my E-Bike waiting for me at home).

Dusty, hot, and bumpy, but we saw a Mekong waterfall

and water buffaloes,

skinny cows with calves, just like small deer, there are animals everywhere: chickens with countless chicks around them, as well as ducks and geese, pigs, cats, and dogs. I always: oh, how cute.

And then you can watch the sunset every day and eat delicious food. Sounds relaxed, right? Feels like it too 😎

Now, as you can tell, I have discovered the function of integrating images into the text. Is that nicer? I'm not sure.

Mir gefällt das Bild mit den Kaskaden des Mekong besonders gut, Christa findet Anke mit dem Sundowner einfach super-relaxed. Ganz liebe Grüße!
