Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, ...how blue are your leaves...!??
The Christmas tree worm can be found underwater on hard corals, especially in tropical waters (24-26°C). You read that right… the Christmas trees in the sea are not plants, but animals, more precisely worms.
Once the worm has found its place, it stays there in a lime tube all its life. With its colorful branches and large surface area, it collects phytoplankton. Its branches are sensitive to touch; for example, if a diver approaches, the worm will retreat into its burrow in a fraction of a second.
