Our 'Toni' / Litchfield / Kakadu

In Darwin we were allowed to take over our home for the next 30 days - a Toyota Landcruiser 4wd - called 'Toni'.

At Coles, we were able to stock up on supplies so that we are ready to start exploring the national parks.

On Thursday, we visited Litchfield National Park. With temperatures at 35 degrees, we were very grateful for the highlights - the pools. It's amazing what's hidden there. We were able to cool off in the specially marked 'crocodile-free zones'.

In the caravan park, we treated ourselves to a BBQ for the first time and converted Toni for the night. If you know how, the setup is actually very quick and in 15 minutes the sleeping option is ready!

Still struggling with jet lag, we were awake half the night once again. And of course, when you're in a tent on the roof, you can hear everything rustling around, which doesn't make falling back asleep any easier.

On Friday, after a quick check at Apollo, we headed to Kakadu National Park. Toni's bike was making a strange sound.

Well-informed, we wanted to visit the most beautiful lookout in the park.

On the way there, we thought we had to cross a creek (with crocodiles) twice. Jacqueline's internal struggle with this challenge probably doesn't need to be mentioned here. Fortunately, it turned out that this challenge did not have to be overcome for the lookout.

We were rewarded with a fabulous and impressive 360-degree view of Arnhem Land and Kakadu National Park - see for yourself.
