Rotorua - Day 1, Hobbiton and Spa visit

Unfortunately, it was raining when we woke up. Luckily, it stopped relatively quickly and the cloudy weather is good for our sunburnt skin.

At 12:05, our tour of Hobbiton started😍 It was really amazing to walk along the paths and see the approximately 40 small cave-like houses with round doors. We also learned a lot of small details and background information, like the fact that there is only one artificial tree and a few days before filming started, Peter Jackson said that the leaves had the wrong shade of green. So each leaf had to be repainted in the correct color.

After a final complimentary drink at the Green Dragon, it was unfortunately time to go back to the bus. I could have stayed there all day...

When we arrived at the hostel, we headed to the Polynesian Spa. In the pools, which were up to 43 degrees hot, our muscles could fully recover from the rafting, together with a fellow traveler from Eppingen and otherwise 90% Asians.
