Ireland is calling

The positive and at the same time the negative thing about such a trip is that you cannot plan or foresee many things.

I was looking forward to the farm stay here in Sweden, finally being in the country that was supposed to be the main residence of my time off.

Well, now I would like to pack my backpack and move on immediately. Honestly, two days ago I was about to start my journey home.

During my journey, I would love to get to know the culture, the people, and family life. As I did before in Norway, I want to work but also enjoy leisure time and have time to explore the surroundings.

As mentioned in the previous post, the day is tightly planned here and the pressure is relatively high. We work hard from 8 am to 4 pm every day and in return, we only get accommodation and food, we don't get paid. The shower is outside and my "room" is only big enough for a bed. There is nothing else in it.

There is no "quitting time" here, if it's not yet 4 pm, we are supposed to water the plants, even if we already did that in the morning or find something else to do.

Since I don't want to go home yet and want to make the most of my hard-earned time off, I looked for alternatives. In Sweden and also in Norway, I didn't find anything suitable spontaneously on the platform, so I checked if someone in Ireland needs my help. And actually, a hostel in Kilkenny is looking for assistance exactly during the time I wanted to spend here.

So, I am flying to Ireland for 3 weeks on Friday.

After that, I will come back to Sweden and spend 6 days in Stockholm with a travel companion.

Situations like these are where I notice myself growing. Even though I am already standing on my own two feet at home, have my own apartment, and work, I am never alone. I have family and colleagues who make decisions with me or even make some decisions for me.

Now I am learning to make decisions all by myself, to listen to my feelings and act accordingly.
