The delayed summer in L.A.

प्रकाशित: 02.12.2017

The next morning started very early for me. There were a few errands on the agenda.

Then I put on my sports clothes and jogged to the nearest Walmart.

After about 45 minutes and some wrong turns, I finally arrived at this store. Now I could finally buy my long-awaited bike. You may be wondering, 'Why is she buying a bike?'

The explanation is simple: Firstly, I have distanced myself from the rental car topic due to the dramas I have experienced, and secondly, renting a bike costs similar to renting a car. I couldn't believe it either, but unfortunately, it was true. So, I bought the cheapest bike at Walmart. They even forgot the basket at the checkout, so it was free, and they also gave me a lock. Another essential purchase was the internet card for my phone. We couldn't do without it anymore, as we often reached our limits without being able to send messages outside. But what was even worse was the navigation. In LA, driving without navigation is like being in a labyrinth without an exit *laughs*

So, I bought my bike and internet card. Of course, as it should be... I drive out of Walmart and realize that the front tire is flat. Fortunately, I didn't just stand there and asked nicely at the carwash station on the opposite side if someone could inflate my tires. Perfect, a volunteer immediately offered to help. Then I drove back home and got my phone working. It worked perfectly at times. At the same time, I gathered a towel, flip flops, water, and headphones. And so, my little bike tour to Long Beach started. By car, the distances are not far, but by bike, they are. I was on the road for about an hour, but it was worth every meter.

In between, I stopped at the BMW dealer and checked out my next car :-)

I can almost smell it, the beach is not far anymore.

Here I am already on Ocean Avenue, it looks nice. I love these giant palm trees.

It looks very beautiful, and at 27 degrees, it's really tempting, but the water is freezing cold *shivering*. After dipping my feet in the water, I reconsidered the whole swimming plan *laughs*

Oh, what a clumsy finger in the picture *laughs*
On the way back, I stopped by a small cafe in Long Beach to recharge, then I went back. Unfortunately, it gets dark pretty early here. On the way home, I made a stop at the nail salon, which is practically free here - amazing! Well, my nail lady at home does it a little better, but for the price, it's more than okay.

When I was driving the rest of the way home, I really thought I couldn't make it - my butt was hurting so much. Well, to be precise, everything was hurting. Riding a bike is not one of my regular sports activities at home. But I was so proud of myself.

As proud as I was, I was also tired in the evening. There was no spectacular dinner... *laughs*
