Day 3

प्रकाशित: 03.12.2022

Woke up in paradise. The alarm clock rang at 6 am today and we enjoyed the first hot water on our balcony. At 6:30 am, there was a knock on our door and a friendly smiling lady served us our daily ghee. A small shot glass, along with a lime. A bit like tequila but without salt. Tilted our heads back and downed it... not so bad 🥃

At 7 am, we continued with a yoga class. The yoga teacher, who was probably in his mid-60s, hobbled over and smiled at us with his tooth-gap smile. What happened next is hard to describe. In - Out - Up - Down - Headstand - Leg behind the head - Shavasana - Done. Wow!

After breakfast, we received our treatment plan for the day. We got to enjoy a head massage including an herbal mask with a banana crown, an inhalation, a full-body oil massage, and an herbal scrub. With breaks in between where coconuts were served to us by the pool. We feel like we've been here for at least 4 days, not 24 hours.

For lunch, we had bitter melon, which we thought was deep-fried sea urchin.

Dinner took place as a live-cooking cooking school event, so there will soon be Sinhalese-Ayurvedic dishes at home 😉

For dessert, we had our first medicine. 4 tablets and 2 shots. One of them tasted like Averna - cheers!

However, our highlight was our new roommate, whom we discovered in the bathroom while brushing our teeth in the evening. A small delicate cockroach about 7 cm long. We named him Kurt. Later, we also discovered his girlfriend Karla, who emerged from behind the trash can while I was sitting on the toilet. So quickly closed the bathroom door and went to bed behind the mosquito net. Hoping that Karla and Kurt will visit another guest tomorrow.
