We drove along the 150 km long highway. Since the road was not used as planned after construction, nature was able to develop undisturbed. There are only individual farms or mini settlements. As always, we admired dense forests, waterfalls, and lush, gently rolling meadows. We stayed at the Bushland Campground, a very secluded place - Tangarakau - simply beautiful. Once more than 2000 people lived there, but apart from about 20 people, everyone moved away. You can still see the train station and some houses, and an almost mystical campsite.

lined the paths. It is simply not possible to capture the landscape again in photos, but we are trying our best.
