18th day - from Kolan to Bibinje

प्रकाशित: 01.07.2019

We have never experienced a worse campsite than the one last night. Sv. Duh (That's the name of the place where the campsite is located) welcomed us with a drunken man in the reception, who was complaining about his boss (a late sleeper, rocker, ...). The sanitary facilities were dirty, as camping with dogs (as big as calves) is currently popular (in Selce, there was a man with 2 dogs as big as Great Danes in a caravan), and in the morning there was a pile of dog poop near our tent. The sewage from the sanitary facilities was conveniently drained into the bathing area, and the restaurant smelled on one side because sanitary sewage was also being drained there; I felt sorry for the waitress, she apologized multiple times; the restaurant itself was clean and the food was great.

We hope, dear readers, that this description didn't scare you too much. This evening we see that it can be completely different as well.

But let's start from the beginning:

After an early start, we found out that the direct road to the town of Pag was interrupted, so a detour (+300 meters elevation, +5km) was necessary. The island is poor and barren, only around the party hotspots 'life is blooming'. There is even vegetation in the south.

By the way, 'Bambus Jenny' seems to have been active here, there is a lot of corresponding overgrowing vegetation.

The town of Pag and the promenade are beautiful.

On our way towards Zadar, the landscape on the mainland became greener and greener. We even saw 'real' farmers in the hay harvest.

Zadar itself is full of flowers and trees - a relic from the time of Austrian rule.

South of Zadar - in Bibinje - we found a campsite with its own beach - and very clean!
