Warm, warmer, Sevilla // Session 8

So this session is about Sevilla. I'm already further along (currently in Granada), but I still want to briefly summarize the 3 days in Sevilla.

When I arrived, I was completely exhausted and unmotivated to do anything. So I went straight to the hostel and only got something to eat on the way. (That was it for the day) When I arrived at the hostel, I got a very good first impression of the staff, which continued to be true. The staff was really friendly, remembered your name, and always asked how you were doing and what your plans were. (Polite small talk) The hostel itself was also good. Breakfast, a free tour of Sevilla, and even dinner were offered, all for free. However, I didn't use any of it. I had a 4-bed room, but I only had to share it with one Norwegian guy for the days. And he had a completely different sleep schedule, so we didn't get in each other's way. The only negative thing about the hostel was that it was built next to a church, whose bell rang every hour from 9:56am to 10:56pm. And it was located in a small square with some restaurants, so it wasn't very quiet in the evenings. But my earplugs saved me👍🏻

Enough about the hostel. On the first day, I got an overview of the city, as I always do now. I also visited Casa de la Pilatos, which was really cool to see. On the same day, I also went to Plaza de Espana, which was incredibly impressive, and I checked out Torre del Oro and the bullring from the outside. In the evening, I had dinner at Alameda de Hercules. (A square with endless restaurants selling extremely cheap but good food)

On the next day, I visited the two "most important" things in the city. The Cathedral of Sevilla and the Alcázar. I found the Cathedral impressive because it was huge, but I've seen much more beautiful religious buildings. But the Alcázar was amazing. It's a royal palace, built in Moorish and Renaissance style, which really blew me away. Everything was very beautiful. A must-see if you're in Sevilla. Besides, parts of Game of Thrones were filmed there, namely many scenes from Dorne.

The visit would have only cost me 3€, but then I treated myself to an audio guide, which made the experience even better. There was still too much information, but they tried to focus on the most important things when creating the audio guide. So not a lot of unnecessary information.

In the evening, I had cheap and good food again at the same square, and the next day I went to Granada.

In general, I really liked Sevilla, unfortunately, it's as hot as in Germany, which makes sightseeing very exhausting. Another small negative point is that there are a lot of carriages driving around in Sevilla, mainly trying to transport tourists. But I hate horses, so I didn't find it that cool...

Today, I visited the Alhambra and I'm curious to see how I will like it.
