First day/erster Tag 20.01.21.01.2023

Iberia overnight flight from Madrid at 23:55. 13 hours of flight. Small seats with rows of 3 x 3, not much space. Arrival at 09:00 in Chile. 1 hour for customs. The Chileans ask to fill out a form in which you certify that you are not importing food, plants or animals.

I was checked, a lady too. The customs officers took out about ten sausages and a ham from her suitcase, confiscated them.

Once past customs, breakfast at the airport and Uber to the Mercure in the city center. Very good meal at the Mercure, beef fillets and Pacific fish. Beer from a German brewer who produces according to German standards in southern Chile, Kunstmann, in Valdivia where they also organize beer festivals.

After a nap until dinner, or almost, we start sightseeing tomorrow.
