Costa Rica - Manuel Antonio

प्रकाशित: 16.03.2017

In Manuel Antonio, we met up with Patrick again, as he will accompany us on our journey for the next few days. We stayed at the Que tuanis hostel, which is quite nice here because there are small monkeys freely roaming around and being fed. The not so nice part, we found bed bugs in one of our beds the next morning... They were dead, but the thought was enough. It started itching immediately, even though we didn't get bitten :D Luckily, none of them got into our backpacks, otherwise we would have had to wash everything.

So we had to find a new hostel and say goodbye to Que tuanis.

Here, we also visited a national park once again. Yes, we don't give up and there are quite a few here. But this time, we treated ourselves to a guide because we never really saw any animals, and yes, it's really worth it. Our guide constantly saw an animal somewhere, saying 'Look, there's a sloth up there'. And I thought to myself every time 'ahh yeah...where?' :D Luckily, he also had a telescope/binoculars with him, so we could see and take photos of the animals up close. Without it, I would probably have only seen leaves again :)

In any case, you should make sure not to have any open fruit or anything else in your backpack in the park. A little monkey came down the tree so quickly and stole Steffi's banana, you couldn't even look fast enough. I quickly took my backpack and put mine away, but just like that, it was gone too :) Naughty little things.

The beach in the national park is really beautiful, clean, and not overcrowded. But here too, there are little thieves lurking: Beware of the raccoons ;)

Next stop, Puerto Jimenez
