I will use this blog to keep you, my family, friends, and relatives up to date for the next four and a half months. The blog will be very image-heavy and not dominated by long texts. Unless I should fall into a spontaneous writing frenzy, which is not expected but I don't want to exclude it :)
I will write my blog posts in German and then in English below, so that my relatives in England can also follow everything.
It's still about a week until Anna and I make our way to the airport on Saturday, January 9th, but the excitement, panic, and anticipation are already clearly noticeable.
We already have a rough route in mind that we will follow for the four months, but that doesn't mean that it can't and won't change.
Our journey will most likely lead us from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore, then to Bali, then to Borneo, followed by the east coast of Malaysia, and finally to Bangkok. From there, we will also start our return flight on May 12th.
We don't have much planned yet. We will fly from Stuttgart Airport to Kuala Lumpur, with a 3-hour layover in Istanbul.
After landing in Kuala Lumpur in the morning, we will first move into our hotel room, settle in, and explore the city a bit.
The first two days will probably be our most luxurious ones, as we have settled into the **** Spa & Wellness Hotel Impiana.
After that, we will see where we will stay and where our journey will take us next.
I'm going to use this blog to keep my family, friends, and relatives up to date on my four and a half months journey. This will be more of an 'image blog' rather than long explanations – unless I have a spontaneous writing affection, which is not to be expected, but never say never :)
Among other things, I'll post in German with English below, so my relatives in England can follow my journey too.
It's still almost a week till Jan Saturday the 9th. We'll be on our way to the airport then, but the excitement, panic, and anticipation is already noticeable now.
We already have a rough route in mind, which we intend to pursue during the coming four months. But who knows, that route may and possibly will change...
From Kuala Lumpur, our journey will probably lead us to Singapore, then to Bali, Borneo, then up the east coast of Malaysia and further on to Bangkok – from where we intend to fly home in May.
So much for our 'working plan,' but I don't want to bore you and miss all the excitement – so we didn't book all of that. We'll fly from Stuttgart to Kuala Lumpur, with a 3-hour stopover in Istanbul.

The first two days will probably also be our most luxurious, because we booked ourselves a stay in the **** Spa & Wellness Hotel Impiana.
