In October 2021, the borders to Australia were closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At that time, it was uncertain whether we would ever embark on our trip to Australia. Positive thinking as we sometimes are, we still bought a ticket for the concert of the Happier than Ever 2022 Tour by Billie Eilish. The last concert of the tour was supposed to take place on September 30th in Perth. Therefore, after our stay in Thailand, we did not fly directly back to Sydney but planned a stopover in Perth. We spent 10 days there and explored the city. Since we didn't have much money left, our activities were limited to walking and more walking. It was a long 10 days. The concert ticket included access to the general admissions area, so we were allowed to stand right in front of the stage. Overall, it was amazing! The performance by Billie Eilish and the opening act were incredible from start to finish! The choice of tickets was definitely worth the money, as we were able to be very close to the action. On the other hand, the likelihood of distractions around us was very high. At the beginning, there was a girl next to us who couldn't handle the stress of a concert. She had come to the concert alone and had lost her friend, whose name and appearance she couldn't describe to us. Just as the concert started, she started crying, which overwhelmed us. Two women in front of us took care of her and I lost sight of her during the concert. Another group of girls pushed their way through the crowd in the middle of the concert and drove us away from our hard-earned spots. They positioned themselves in front of us, obstructed our view, and made their own concert. With their backs to the stage, they behaved as if no one was around them. All of this distracted from the performance, which was a shame, but it didn't diminish the experience itself. For next time, I have learned that I will have to spend the night in front of the concert hall, whether I like it or not, so that I can get seats in the front row. After our stay in Perth, our flight returned to Sydney with a stopover in Melbourne.
