The drive from Paihia to Richmonds Down was a nerve-racking journey. First, half an hour of traffic before the major detour of SH1, and then an hour and a half of crossing Auckland on the highway. Oh dear.....

We had to make a stop in Kawakawa because there is a public toilet designed by Hundertwasser, who lived here from 1973 until his death.

We enjoyed our dinner in Morrinsville, a small town that has commissioned various artists to design cows and has placed them throughout the town. I have photographed a small selection.
