On the way to Orford we visited a animal farm, Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary for Tasmanian animals. Here we had the opportunity to see the Tasmanian devil, a tiny wombat, lots of kangaroos and other animals. After that, we continued to Richmond, a small town with some old (approximately 1836) houses, lovingly restored. A stone bridge built by the convicts leads out of the town to Orford. Here I was able to see my first wombat in the wild at night in front of our terrace.
