Sun, clouds, light drizzle
Today we drive all day on Route 13 - a road that we marked as particularly impressive on our tour 14 years ago. It leads through beautiful valleys, steep and winding roads up, over winter-closed passes and down again in narrow curves into the next valley. Here we experience the dramatic Norway: fjords with steep slopes and even snow-covered peaks, plenty of rivers, lakes and waterfalls - a lonely, wild and natural landscape over long distances.
After a detour to the stave church in Vik, we take a ferry across the Sognefjord and approach the Jostedalsbreen, Norway's largest glacier on our winding route.
In the afternoon, we look for a slightly larger cabin with a bathroom in a small town right next to a roaring stream. On a long walk, we treat ourselves to wild blueberries and a shopping trip to the nearby supermarket.
