Fremantle

After the end of my Westcoast trip, I stayed in a hostel in Fremantle for a few days, the officially 'hippest city in Australia'.

And I was immediately blown away! The whole city is full of beautiful old architecture, which you rarely see in Australia. I just felt completely comfortable, not only because of the great city, but also because of the people I met there in the short time. There are also beautiful beaches, a small harbor, many small shops and restaurants, markets, artists, street art... If I didn't want to go back to Germany, that would be my city! :-)

One day I met Lis and Joe in Perth. We wandered around the city and the botanical gardens and visited an exhibition about Heath Ledger. (For those who don't know him: He was an Australian actor who originally came from Perth and died at the age of 27.) Here he is an absolute icon! In the exhibition we could see many costumes and props from his movies, as well as many pictures of him. swoon!!!

As I was running out of money, I reluctantly decided to fly to Melbourne with Silvia. Here the chances of finding a job are much higher than in the small Fremantle.

The time here was unfortunately way too short!
