From Isla de Ometepe we took the ferry back to San Jorge and then to Rivas. There's really something going on in Rivas, there are stalls everywhere that sell food, clothes, household utensils and so on. When you arrive at the bus station in Rivas you are immediately approached and asked where you want to go, everyone wants you to take a taxi instead of the bus and everyone gives you the best price. Admittedly a little tiring and Rivas is not necessarily a nice place to stay.

We persisted and took the chicken bus to Granada. No mistake, the trip is an experience 😅First of all, the bus only starts when it's completely full and completely full means the people are almost stacked on top of each other 😅Before you set off, the already overcrowded bus is constantly joined by vendors coming in and making their way through the aisle Squeeze, there's everything you can buy there. From drinks (Kaba in the plastic bag😃), any cookies, chicken/rice/tortilla also in the plastic bag to charging cables, headphones to medication (the medication is advertised as in the commercial 😅)

We spent one night in Granada and looked at the nice little town (colonial-style buildings, lakeside promenade...) and the Masaya volcano. When it is dark you can see the glowing lava. 🌋🌋
