Another beautiful sunny day starts and we head to the lookout point Mt Victoria. The drive on very narrow steep streets once again shows us that our camper is too big for a big city. We skip the lookout point because of the narrowing road and continue to the windmill lookout point. Who would have thought: it's very windy up here. The sunny weather seems to be more of an exception, and it's not for nothing that the city is called 'Windy Welly'.
As we leave the city on the wide motorway, we breathe a sigh of relief. Next time, maybe a small car for the city.
Our drive takes us through small villages, whose houses look like they have been standing since colonization. Almost like a movie, just like the green hills. Can Hobbiton look more authentic?
Today we make our stop in Hawera. From here, we can already see the volcano surrounded by clouds, our travel highlight for tomorrow.
