Today we left the motorcycles behind and explored the city on foot. Da Lat was built as a resort during the French colonial period and is located 1500 meters above sea level. First, we went to the so-called 'Crazy House'. This is a hotel that is completely twisted and whimsically designed and furnished. We could walk over the roofs and through different buildings. But the three of us all agreed that such a building would never be approved in Germany for building code reasons. In some places, the railing was only a few centimeters high and behind it it went down over 10 meters. After that, we walked down to the lake. The entire city was built around this artificially created lake. There we had a coffee and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the city. After walking a bit further, we reached a large square. At first, we didn't understand what this square was supposed to represent, until we realized that there is a huge shopping center directly underneath it. There we each had two hot dogs for lunch and strolled around. When we came back up to the daylight, it started to rain lightly shortly afterwards and we went back down. After a while, we walked back to our hostel and spent the rest of the evening there. The hostel offered a family dinner, where we met many people and talked to them until we went to sleep.
