Phi Phi Don

ꯐꯣꯉꯈ꯭ꯔꯦ꯫: 21.12.2016

Phi Phi Don is unfortunately no longer what it was before the 2004 tsunami... The island has turned into an absolute party island. It is completely built up with hotels, etc. Ibiza or Mykonos in southern Thailand!

The visitors here are between 20-30 years old, backpackers (which is completely fine) and what I don't like... spoiled rich student kids from Europe...

Unfortunately, I made a very bad choice with the accommodation here, it is very bad and way too expensive for 3 days. Right in the center of the party. Disco until 5:00 in the morning every day.

And to make matters worse, I caught a very bad cold (air conditioning and motorbike in Jomtien)... But I received very good advice at the pharmacy and got medication, everything was good after 2 days!

But I don't want to just write negative things about Phi Phi Don! It is still a beautiful island and we found a fantastic restaurant with bungalows. We have breakfast there every morning and regret not booking it. Very very friendly family there! Tip: never book accommodation in Germany, but choose a suitable accommodation on site. In the high season over Christmas, many places are booked, but you can always find something. The advantage is that you can see in advance what you are getting into. The pictures on Booking.com are often wrong! And remember, you have to go on foot with all your luggage to the accommodation!

But tomorrow we will continue to Koh Lanta, a very peaceful yoga island and we will stay there for 6 days! Excited to see what awaits us there:)) talk to you later...
