We had an extra day to relax and see some sights here in Mui Ne. The hostel offered a tour to see the red and white dunes, as well as the Ferry Stream. It's like a mini Elbe Sandstone Mountains 😂😂
We started the day with a group of 15 people. All from the hostel, so we already knew each other from the previous nights. Our first stop was the Ferry Stream. We walked up a river to see a 'waterfall' at the end. There were sand dunes and sandstone cliffs on both sides. The funny thing about the trip was that we only had an hour. When we arrived at the waterfall, we didn't want to walk all the way back and called the hostel to ask the driver to pick us up. They said, okay, he'll be there in 10 minutes. But after half an hour, no one was there yet, so we called again. This time they said they couldn't reach anyone and told us to walk back 😂... so we did. Now we were one hour behind schedule. But in Vietnam, no problem. The driver made up for it with his 'driving skills'. Man, I thought I was going to die. When he overtakes, he just honks briefly and the strongest one wins. Although I'm not sure if the bus would have been the strongest every time 😂 Anyway, you get used to the traffic here slowly.
Next, we went to the white dune. A huge dune landscape in the middle of nowhere. Then came the red dune with a sunset... Just amazing.
Tomorrow we have a very long journey ahead of us. We're going to Hoi An, which is 550 km away. But luckily we'll be taking a sleeper bus this time. Hopefully no vomiting this time 😂
