08/05/2018:
Today I had booked a four-island tour including kayaking. We went on a boat in a group of 20 people. I had joined two Germans there.
When I left in the morning, the weather didn't seem to be very good. There were more clouds in the sky than blue patches. So I decided not to apply sunscreen. However, the sun did come out occasionally.
Just as the guide put the kayak in the water, it started to rain heavily. Thunder could be heard. But just go into the water. Nothing can happen. That's the Thai way of thinking. So I paddled through the water in the rain. I have to say it was exhausting, but kayaking was fun. After that, we went back to the boat.
Either from that moment on or even before, I didn't feel so well anymore. I didn't leave the hostel in the evening. My entire back was red. I had never had such a bad sunburn. I asked other people for After Sun and the owner actually had Aloe Vera gel. I was very grateful and applied several layers. I bought water at the hostel, I didn't want to move a meter. I didn't feel hungry either.
The owner recommended ginger tea for relief. You could buy it at the market. But I didn't want to go out anymore. I couldn't sleep well that night. At some point, I took Paracetamol for the fever, nausea, and headache. I felt freezing. I was already wearing clothes and a jacket, but I grabbed a second blanket. The others even turned up the temperature of the air conditioning for me. However, it was still cold.
