Meine Reise beginnt - Arrival in Nelson

Düsseldorf Airport
After about eleven hours of flight, I arrived in Hong Kong. What does one do during a twelve-hour layover at an airport? Read, sleep, wander around...
After another eleven hours of flight, I arrived in Auckland. I was incredibly excited and a little scared of the passport control and the inspection of my passenger arrival card. I had to open my suitcase to show my hiking shoes. Fortunately, I had cleaned them well in advance. After all the inspections, I walked around the Auckland airport somewhat aimlessly, looking for the Domestic transfer desk. To my horror, I also had to check in using a computer. This didn't work right away, but with the help of an Air New Zealand employee, it eventually worked.
I continued with Air New Zealand to Nelson. After about an hour of flight, I finally arrived in Nelson.
Arrival in Nelson on 31.08.2016.
On 01.09.2016, I had an orientation seminar (work and travel).
From 05.09. - 30.09.2016, I am taking a language course in Nelson. During this time, I am staying with a host family.
I have already found a WWOOFing (working on a farm/hostel in exchange for room and board) placement for October found.
On Saturday (10.09.16), I unfortunately stumbled in my room and hurt my hand pretty badly on the door frame. My ring finger is now swollen and I might have to go to the doctor. I hope my finger isn't broken.
Today (Sunday 11.09.2016), I walked to the Centre of New Zealand with another exchange student. From there, you have an incredibly beautiful view.
