Photo 1: Every weekday I pass by this church. It is located very close to the Pantanal district. It is the Church of Jesus Christ of the Saints of the Last Three Days. Or the last three saints. Anyway. This strangely sharp, flawless white tower looks like it was folded and glued from cardboard. The surrounding area is surrounded by a high, fancy fence. Next to the church, there is a well-maintained basketball court. Everything looks new, unused, perfectly clean. Like a model from the architecture office. It seems strangely out of place in the mix of partially run-down, colonial-style houses and corrugated iron and wooden huts. I have never seen anyone there. Is nobody allowed in or nobody allowed out?

Photo 2: We had to cut short the math lesson with Osman today because he hasn't finished designing his Christmas thank-you card yet. I took the liberty of not going back to Gloria's class with Osman. I always feel so unnecessary there. Gloria doesn't talk to us. She never introduces the volunteers to the children either. So we just dabble and look for "work". Gloria often hands out worksheets and we walk around and see where we can help. This needs a lot of improvement. I'm always happy when I can work with Osman, it makes me feel better. What does that have to do with the photo? In this free half hour, I took a few photos. Here you can see the so-called garden. On the right side, Silvana (hidden) is sitting with a few students, they are practicing reading and/or writing. Behind them on the left, children are playing with the seat hammocks. They already have huge holes, but you can still sit in them and spin around to the maximum. And then release and spin back with a lot of screaming. Most of the individual tutoring takes place out here, so the conditions are far from ideal. But unfortunately, there are no additional rooms, except for the kitchen and office.

Photo 3: The road to the project. Also in need of improvement. No taxis go in here. My little pink bike handles all the bumps, potholes, and piles of garbage with ease. They are slightly different every day, especially after a rain shower. But from here, it is not far anymore, in fact, you can already see the project building in the background.
