4.1. Today we are driving to Puerto Varas to meet Vivi and Michel. On the way, we find out that almost all rental cars are booked and no company wants to issue Argentine papers. In addition, the passes that are conveniently located for our trip are not open. We are disappointed and once again wasted hours organizing things that ultimately bring nothing. Well, that's how it is in Covid times ... We quickly find a hostel and then go into town. The reunion with the two of them is as expected very entertaining and we go for dinner together after a beer.

5.1. We drive towards the Osorno volcano to get to the Petrohue waterfalls. It seems that the Chileans are on vacation because nowhere else has there been so many people at an excursion destination like today! Afterwards, we go to the most terrible restaurant of our entire trip for food. It's like a really lousy canteen with pre-cooked food. Even the oil and vinegar on the table are bad/rancid and we leave everything except the salmon and the green salad. We calculate if it would be possible to visit the Cochamo Valley today. We think that we would arrive there around 6/7 p.m. and look forward to the upcoming 3-hour hike. What we don't know is that the valley is private land and they close the hiking trail at 3:00 p.m. In addition, you absolutely need a reservation at one of the three campsites. We find this out at the entrance to the hiking trail after we have prepared our backpacks for the three days for an hour at 3:10 p.m. Great! Talking doesn't help and we have to unpack everything again to spend the night at the campsite in the valley ...
