We are the 5 friends, Scholle and Lissi, Asma and Nina - and Mona, the dog.

Previously: After a 13-hour bus ride, we arrive in Cartagena at 8 a.m. totally crumpled. As we get off the bus we are hit by a heat wave. We organize coffee and a taxi driver to take us to our Airbnb in Punta Canoa. The accommodation is really difficult to find. We drive as Google Maps shows us and suddenly end up on a gravel road that ends in the sea :P After the taxi driver spoke to Erica, our landlady, on the phone and she even drove towards us, we actually made it: we are arrived at our new home for the next 5 days. And what a home! We have an entire house with a garden and a small pool to ourselves. And to our great surprise, the house also includes Mona - a super sweet dog who needs a lot of cuddles. Of course you've come to the right place :D

Erica hands us the keys and lets us use her house. Mona stays with us. We are supposed to feed them every day at 5 p.m. Asma pours almost half the food package into her bowl haha. Since we don't have anything to eat, we walk into the village. This is where the party starts because it's Sunday! When we arrive at the mini market, we unfortunately find that the selection of food is limited. We buy whatever is available and walk back to the accommodation. Mona accompanies us. We want to make pasta with tomato sauce. Unfortunately the tomato sauce isn't tomato sauce at all, it's ketchup...yuck. But Lissi manages to get the best out of the sauce :D

11.03. Since we live quite outside and can't actually get anywhere on foot except the small village, Erica offers to drive us to the nearest larger supermarket. We gladly accept the offer and drive to the shopping mall with her the next morning. Erica is horrified by our purchases, which mainly consist of sweets :D Now we understand why the 46 year old looks like she's in her early 30s - unlike us, she eats healthily :P

We spend the rest of the day reading, chilling, snacking - what you do on vacation :D In the evening we want to have a barbecue. Scholle tries in vain to get a fire started in stormy weather and then has to wait until the specialist Lissi gets to work. After a good half hour the coals are glowing and we can get started. We enjoy the grilled potatoes (which unfortunately burned due to not enough aluminum foil) and the grilled vegetables.

12.03. Today we want to explore Cartagena. From Eduardo, our gardener, we learn that there is also a bus from Punto Canoa to Cartagena. The journey takes 2 hours, but with the finest Colombian music (why doesn't that exist in Germany?!). Completely soaked in sweat, we get off the bus in Cartagena and take refuge in the next shop, which happens to be a party shop. We jump in and get some ears and a scepter for our upcoming birthday parties. With Klaus, our taxi driver, we drive to the harbor and walk through the old town. We take a lap through the Museo de Oro - too slow for Lissi, too fast for Asma :P - and then make our way to an Italian restaurant that Klaus recommended to us. There's even Aperol Spritz here! And super cute cats.

On the city wall we admire the beautiful view, eat a delicious ice cream and then wait for Klaus, who offered to drive us back to Punta Canoa.

13.03. Lissi and Asma go jogging in the morning - the crazy ones. In the meantime, Nina and Plaice are chilling in the pool :D

In the afternoon we take the bus to Cartagena. Today the journey seems very long. We quickly bought a few beers and alcopops and off we went on the party bus. Because today it's party time! We dance to Shakira :D
