El Nido (Palawan), The Philippines

Нийтэлсэн: 15.05.2018

We were already warned that El Nido is very busy due to the closure of Boracay. Naturally, we arrived without booking any accommodation. Quite frustrated, we had to realize that it is really not that easy to find something decent at short notice. We would have preferred to go back to Port Barton right away. However, when we started exploring the surrounding beaches with a scooter to get out of the crowded town, we suddenly liked it. The beaches Las Cabanas and Nacpan offered dreamlike sunsets and Nacpan Beach even had a bar on a raft. You somehow had to manage to bring the money there dry, but you were rewarded with a unique scenery. On the way back when it was already dark, we were also rewarded with bioluminescent plankton that glows in the water as soon as you swim through it. A unique experience.

One evening we met Manu and his girlfriend. We met him when we missed the ferry to Cat Ba Island in Vietnam. It's always nice to meet new friends again.

After the island of Palawan, we will fly to the island of Cebu. The plan is to get out of the city as soon as possible to get to Moalboal.
