Pokhara is amazingly spacious and includes three very different neighborhoods that are relatively disconnected. While tourists gather on the eastern lakeside in Lakeside (or Baidam), the bustling market district "Main Bazaar" is the true heart of the city.
It's busy here and locals rush along the streets or haggle over goods and prices in numerous shops and markets. Everything here is much cheaper, but tourists rarely come here. In Old Pokhara, on the other hand, you will find original little houses that are wonderfully crooked and have old carved wooden shutters. There is so much exciting to see, it makes a photographer's heart laugh.
Shops are sometimes so tiny that you have to bend your head properly when entering to avoid hitting your head. Evolution live! Obviously, the Nepalese used to be much smaller than they are today.
