We are in Bangkok...2019 can begin :)

It's New Year and we're back in Bangkok - not that it's becoming a tradition :)

How I missed the polluted city air and chaotic driving. No... honestly, I'm glad when we continue south and head to the beach tomorrow. And now I'm just happy to lie in the hotel bed, have a blanket, and stretch my legs. After almost 11 hours on the plane, it feels like luxury.

Our flight went smoothly, Nora could hardly close her eyes due to excitement, neither before nor during the flight. But still, she was a model child on the plane. Between meals, movies, and playing cards, there was also the occasional nap. And so the time flew by quickly. By the way, we already played a few rounds of Uno at Frankfurt Airport :-) Let's see how many rounds we'll play this vacation!

From our hotel room, we have a direct view of the train station, from where we'll continue south tomorrow. But today we'll just settle in, get used to the temperatures and air conditioning, enjoy the food, and get a good night's sleep... at least I hope so :)

Actually, we planned to immerse ourselves in the hustle and bustle today... but our energy only brought us to the hotel restaurant and then back up to the room. I would say that's enough for today. We can try again tomorrow :)

And one more thing I wanted to mention: I reached my goal of packing less than last year. On our last trip, we had 17kg of luggage, this time it was only 13.5kg! ... and it still feels too heavy when you have to carry it on your back :-) I'm curious how much it will be on the return flight!
