Second stop: Whangarei

I'm checking in from my short layover in Whangarei.

Originally, Louise and I were planning to take a job as landscape designers. However, it turned out that the employer was not reputable, to put it bluntly, they were scam artists! So, we decided not to take the job.

The next day, we had another stroke of bad luck with a job posting! The man who was supposed to be running a campsite turned out to not exist. And the alleged 30 guests were nowhere to be found, instead, the nearest 'neighbor' was almost a 10-minute drive away.

Later that day, we had someone drive us back to the city. However, we didn't have a place to stay for the night and it was already 5 PM. Fortunately, I was in contact with Ellie and we were able to stay at their hostel for two nights.

The hostel was really cool. It used to be a prison. We were able to relax and plan our next destination: Paihia!

The only thing I'm taking away from Whangarei are the beautiful nature impressions.
