After the extended weekend, the school week started on Tuesday morning. I thought that no new students would come, but there was one: And Suiza tambien. - Are there only Swiss students in Ecuador during this time of year?
Because tonight after six o'clock there was still a Swiss girl in the house where I'm staying. She will start at the school next Monday after exploring the Galapagos for a few more days.
So this morning there were only Swiss students in the classes, all individually. Daniela from the United States was sick.
Not surprisingly, I got a new teacher: Veronica. It seems important and right to me that there is a change. For the student, but especially for the teacher, especially in individual lessons. Both with Evelyn before and now with Veronica, speaking skills are emphasized. Grammatically, the chapter 'past' started. Uuu, that means cramming irregular forms like fui, estuve, hice, and so on. Yes, I definitely want to learn more before I go into practice. Let's see if anything can be done this week.
After school, I looked around in Megamaxi, which is a supermarket on Avenuda Seis de Diciembre. Quite close, about a kilometer from the house just before the Atahualpa Stadium. There is a lot of stuff to buy there. For example, someone came with 4 new tires for the car in the shopping cart. Rows of basic groceries, an incredible selection of detergent, and so on.
But it's different from ours. For example, I was looking for one of those ready-made sandwiches that are normal for us, the triangular ones, for example. No luck! Only in the restaurant, right inside the supermarket, there was a charming selection, but actually for eating on the spot. Also not found: boots. I still need those for the jungle. However, on the way back, I found a hairdresser.
I will also need that before I move on.
