First stop after Brisbane: Byron Bay. The surfer town is located on a beautiful bay and has a north beach. The three main streets of the town were quickly explored, so we went to the beach. Unfortunately, we spent too long there and in the evening Melissa and I had to complain about a severe sunburn. The next day was spent in the shade. First we strolled through the many small (and surprisingly expensive) boutiques, then relaxed under the palm trees by the pool. In the evening, there was a short hike to the local lighthouse. The easternmost point of the Australian mainland was also located there. From a small rocky outcrop, you could watch the beautiful sunset.
On the last day, our planned bike tour was unfortunately foiled by a lack of bicycles at the hostel. Instead, we went back to the beach and spent the evening with some nice girls.
