I stay at 23 km and walk leisurely to Belfort. The friendly Benedictine Sisters had arranged a church hostel for me again, so I can start the day calmly. Belfort has over 50 thousand inhabitants, so I will replace my poles and umbrella.
There's not much to see on the way this time, so there will only be a few impressions today.
Pay attention to the distance: it's my path via Le Puy!
St. Wendelin in Paffans
These last few days, I've been walking through the frontlines of the First and Second World Wars. The soldiers and Resistance fighters are highly revered, and you can see old bunkers everywhere.
Around 2 PM, I arrive at Belfort via the Tour de la Miotte. I manage to communicate with an 86-year-old Frenchman, although I can't really call it a conversation without German or French. But it was a heartfelt meeting 😘😊
The accommodation is ready, right around the corner from the Cathedral of Saint-Christoph, so I have my second relaxing afternoon in a row.
The poles and umbrella were also successful, and at 9 PM the accommodation for tomorrow also fell into place 😊😊😊
