Driving east from Lakeland to Cooktown, our first stop was at Wuja Wuja falls. Lots of water and almost no people anywhere to see, Stuart enjoyed the sound of the waterfall. No swimming possible as croc warning signs everywhere.
On the way to Cooktown we stopped at the black mountain lookout. No walking or looking for wallabies possible as it is a sacred mountain for the local Aborigines.
In Cooktown we drove at first to the Grassy Hill Lookout, but it was so windy and cold, even the car was shaking. So Stuart got very scared and we left for our next stop, the Botanic Gardens. It was a nice walk through the different palm trees and plants, but soon afterwards it started to rain.
Our last stop for the day was meant to be Keaton lagoon. Arriving at the lagoon there were additional signs saying that there was a recent croc sighting in the lagoon and one should stay meters away from the water. Well, the way was not even 1m away from the edge of the water, so we decided to call it a day and head back to Lakeland.
