Edmonton City

On Sunday I flew to Edmonton. I had my accommodation on the outskirts of downtown, so I was close to the action. I wanted to visit the Muttart Conservatory, a botanical garden, but renovations and construction were underway, so it was closed to visitors. The same was true for Fort Edmonton Park, a park that showcased the history of Edmonton, which had closed its doors for renovations.

Fortunately, only one of the three floors of the Art Gallery of Alberta was closed for renovations. However, the exhibition on the 2nd and 3rd floors did not quite match my taste in art, so I just strolled through and didn't spend much time looking at the artworks.

The walk through Mill Creek Ravine was very beautiful. The bushes were full of berries, which reassured me because it meant that the bears in the Rocky Mountains would not be hungry anymore when I'm there! You could also tell that summer was slowly coming to an end, not only because of the cooler temperatures, but also because the leaves were starting to change color. That made me really excited about the nature in the national parks, but first I will take the bus to Calgary on Friday, where I will stay for a few more days.
