Playa Tamarindo and the surrounding beaches

Since we needed a break from surfing, we explored the beaches in the surrounding area. We found a beautifully empty sandy beach not far from Tamarindo. But the sunset at Playa Tamarindo was fantastic too. Only the countless mosquitoes spoiled the moment. I counted 30 bites on my foot alone, and there must have been around 50 on my whole leg. :/

While surfing, or rather trying to surf, we met some locals. Together, we went to Playa Grande. This beach is protected because turtles often lay their eggs here. We grilled and enjoyed the last rays of sunshine. Unfortunately, the bonfire that was supposed to distract the mosquitoes attracted the park rangers instead. So we had to pack our things and drive back to Tamarindo.

But in Costa Rica, things are never as simple as you imagine. Unfortunately, in the afternoon at the hostel, I had a water with ice cubes. Usually, we always buy water, but that day we ordered one at the hostel. My stomach didn't agree with it, and I had to vomit several times on the way from Playa Grande to Tamarindo. :/

Joice and Janine had a lot of fun because the car in front of us also got stuck. So I was standing 20 cm in the mud, vomiting while the guys pulled the other car out of the mud. Good news at the end, everyone except for my flip flops made it home safely. I couldn't find them in the mud anymore.

After I went to bed and my stomach slowly calmed down, Joice and Janine continued celebrating in the city's finest hotels. :/
