Auch Reading (pronounced "Räding") is one of those old-things-meet-new-things kind of thing. It's actually pretty cool how they come together.

I found it quite well done. The "old" part includes the ruins of an abbey and the historic Town Hall. The "new" part is the high-rise building called "The Blade", which reminds me of the MDR Tower in Leipzig in terms of its top design.

Nice parks, a beautiful waterfront promenade complete the picture. Of course, there are canals and locks as well.

I went to the barber. A bit of luxury on the tour 😉. The hairdresser was from Iraq. He didn't want to talk about his journey that brought him to England two years ago. How will the tightened deportation rules of Braverman & Co affect him?

But as you can see from the description: Yes, Reading is nice if you happen to be there. But you don't have to go out of your way to visit it...

In the evening, I went to the Poetry Slam. Very passionate artists! Interesting topics! My English was at its limit🤫. Great conversations...
