Maumere - Waiterang - Flores - Indonesia

My last destination in "Flores" should not be "Ende". I have chosen the area around "Maumere" for this. Is this destination also close to the end of my journey this year? Full relaxation program should be on the agenda here and at the latest now.

And for that, I found a really nice place very close to Maumere, actually in the middle of nowhere and on a beautiful, natural, black beach. The beach of "Waiterang" really invites you to just sit back and relax for a few days.

I was actually only occupied with reading books, listening to music, chilling - relaxing, sleeping, eating, and occasionally having something to eat. Just a few more hours/days at the end of this exciting journey.

However, one thing kept bothering me, which was climbing "Egon", the "Mount Egon", to avoid any misunderstandings. However, it was tough for me. First, I went to the starting point at 700m by motorbike taxi. And then I had to hike or almost climb. It would have been 900m on about 2.7km in 2.5 hours to the top, making it a total of 1000 height meters on 2.9km. However, due to my poor physical condition on this day, I had to give up. The destination was within reach, but I was alone up here and I didn't want to force it. Especially since it was pretty steep and dangerous up here towards the end, and I also had difficulties finding the right path. The descent only took about 90 minutes.

So I preferred to continue relaxing....
