We woke up sweating wet - there were four of us in the room, but without ventilation it was a bit hot. But you immediately have that shared apartment feeling again. From the temperature hell into the humid - somehow the weather isn't playing along today.
But heads up, we found gas for the camping stove at the first hardware store this morning. The pot of instant coffee tomorrow morning is saved. In order to finally arrive on vacation, we stop at Spiaggia Bianca and finally go for a swim. And because Jan doesn't notice his back in the water (nerve is still pinched, mobility = 0) we almost can't get the boy out with his diving goggles. But he saw a starfish and many colorful fish.
After the beach break we continue to Porto Cervo: the Monaco of Italy. One superyacht follows the next and while window shopping we can amuse ourselves with the latest rich fashion from Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton & Co. We actually discovered an octopus in the harbor basin. Cool guy.
A short stop at the Capo Ferro lighthouse (like real Germans we hike the cliff path in Birkis and flip flops), and we are in Palau to take the ferry to La Maddalena.
Once on the island, Jan abruptly stops the car on a grass verge/garbage dump. There are huge cactus collections here (according to Jan Opuntien) which are currently all bearing ripe cactus fruits. Steffi and Jan give it their all and, in addition to four fruits, harvest around 20 mosquito bites in the 10 minutes of open air time.
Our campsite is right on the water, but overlooks fences. A bit depressing, but the local red wine (Cannonau) tastes like ace.
The Pinsa in town this evening is significantly better than yesterday, even Jan is happy with his fish-free choice.
