Stage 15 Colombres to Llanes

Insights of the day:

1. The existing beds in the Spanish hostels need to be replaced with longer ones. An EU project? ---- Probably there has been one running for some time.

2. You have to stretch a lot for a delicious breakfast. The sheep has got it. I went off without it again.

3. Even at 80, you can still take the curve well.

4. Et hät noch immer joht jejange. --- I think, as I finally enjoy my breakfast in a biker bar.

Ahead of me is a group of 5 elderly Frenchmen, light luggage (digital camera, smartphone, video camera), probably day trippers.

Behind every bend of the winding path, I hear them say: '.Mon dieu comme c'est gentil'. They position their recording devices and 'fire' away. Next bend, the same game. The coves that open up are deserted and very picturesque, quite different from yesterday.

The observant viewer of my pictures notices that I have only photographed the group from behind,.... why?

I linger at the small coves for a while.

Then it's time for a break. I sit down on a lonely beach and take out my fruit. When I look up, I see the little rainbow on the horizon and I hear myself say softly: 'Mon dieu comme c'est gentil.'

Then I visit the cave of 'Smaug', the dragon from Lord of the Rings. I can't describe the scenario any other way. From a deep hole, about 100m behind the coast, a jet of water shoots up every few minutes, and the sound it makes...... I definitely have to make a little video.

A few kilometers further, a man comes towards me and excitedly tells me about a group that wants to ride down a very steep section with their horses. One horse stumbles and the rider falls off. A short time later, I reach the group. Horse and rider are fine, but everyone is very nervous. Each horse is led down the tricky passage by 2 riders. Everything goes well and the ride can continue.

In the afternoon, I reach Llanes, a beautiful small town, with one small flaw, the hostel closes early in the evening and the restaurants open quite late. ---- there is filled baguette.
