Today I walked my Camino. From Santander to the stage destination Boo de Piélagos, the Camino goes inland and, as you can see on the map, is also significantly shorter.
But I fell in love with the coast, and you can't get more coast-y than this. It was spectacularly beautiful once again. This stage is tough, with nearly 36 km to cover. Normally, you would have to hurry. But I'm not making much progress. Every few meters, I stop and take in the intoxicating sights. I'm shooting from all angles (digital camera, smartphone, and gimbal camera). Hopefully, the memory cards will be enough.
I can't tell you what there was to see on my left side for the first 30 km. My gaze was captivated by this amazing stretch of coastline. Even if you're not walking the Camino, this section should be on your itinerary when you visit Santander.
It's good that the hostel owner confirmed my opinion. I met 2 of the funny 3 North Italians again at the hostel. We had a nice conversation again, but the topic of 'Bologna' was taboo (.... 'all communists...' / I remind you). The 2 were not interested in the coastal trip, so I enjoyed it alone.
At around 5:30 pm, I reach the pre-booked hostel. After taking a shower, I go to the supermarket because tomorrow is Sunday and everything is closed in this small town. Speaking of a small town, the supermarket is in the neighboring town, so I have to walk another 3 km.
Well, now it's time for dinner. I'm really hungry.
