The last full day in our cramped home on 4 wheels. By now, even in tight space, we are a well-coordinated team. Tomorrow, it's time to say goodbye.
Start the day without stress. Just live into the day. Then explore the island around noon. It's not so big.
The first sign shows us the way to the Surf Beach. Let's go there and watch the surfers.
Just relax. Sit in the sand, watch the water, feel the wind on your face, and feel the sun on your skin.
Unfortunately, the weather report is right today. After half an hour of watching surfers, the sun is gone and it gets cold. Time to leave. We haven't seen much yet.
Quite busy here. Especially motorcycles. After a short time, we know why.
On Phillip Island, there is a Grand Prix Circuit and starting tonight at 11:00, the 17th Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix takes place. Now it's also clear why we could only find a campground in front of Phillip Island and the cleaning staff said this morning that we should enjoy the calm before the storm.
The main attraction on Phillip Island are the little penguins that arrive on the beach every evening. Perfectly marketed for tourists. You could watch them from observation stands. Wrapped up like on an Antarctic expedition, we wanted to experience that.
They only came ashore to their nests when it was almost dark. So cute, how they waddle up the beach with their short legs.
Always in a group with about 20 penguins. Some ran past, others cleaned themselves in front of us. When you see this, your heart gets warm, but the rest of my body was damn cold.
