Sougia, it's like a small oasis. This small village with 136 inhabitants has managed to escape the influx of tourists. There are a few accommodations, cafes, and taverns, as well as 2 small shops. At the moment, only one tavern is open. The promenade is only 200m long. It starts at a dry riverbed and ends at the small boat harbor. From here, you can take a boat three times a week to neighboring villages on the south coast. It is also the entrance to the Lissos Gorge, which we want to explore together tomorrow. The entire beach has a length of about 1 km. The left part of the beach is more for nudists and dreamers 😂. In the background is a rock wall with bushes and small caves. In the 1970s, many hippies stayed in this little paradise. Even today, a few of them still live hidden in the bushes. Very hidden, some are only known from their morning cough 😅.

You can feel a certain free spirit in this place. Stones are built into figures or turned into animals through paintings 😏. The entrances to the houses are nicely decorated, if you can spot them. For example, one woman lives in a tent, which is in a split stone that has eventually fallen downwards. In the winter, she moved somewhere further back into the bushes, where it is more protected from wind and water. The residents of the village tolerate this. On the left side of the beach, gentle and individual tourism, as well as alternative ways of life, work.
