Syracuse - our Sicily highlight

Syracuse is our next destination. It's Sunday and yet there are countless tour buses parked in the city parking lot, it's really busy here. It's very hot and we close all the curtains in the bus because we didn't get a shaded spot. Let's go to the old town, which is located on the island of Ortygia. It is connected to the mainland by three bridges and we walk across them.

There are many sights to see in the city.

The Roman-Greek buildings are uniquely beautiful.

We stroll through the narrow streets. It's just great here!

Beautiful restaurants and street cafes, we really like it here.

We don't eat out often, but we love Italian cuisine and treat ourselves today.

It was incredibly delicious!!! 😋

We had a wonderful day in Syracuse, our absolute highlight in Sicily!

Then we continue to Augusta.

Here we stayed above the cliffs with a magnificent sea view. The staircase between the rocks leads directly from our bus down to the sea.
