But today a post for yesterday and today :)[/uploads/1c357d70-effe-11e9-a722-ebbd9c9b42f1.jpg_large.jpg][/uploads/33895280-effe-11e9-bb23-b7b52f120be2.jpg_large.jpg][/uploads/fcc31b00-effd-11e9-a722-ebbd9c9b42f1.jpg_large.jpg]Yesterday we had to get up early again because we wanted to feed dolphins before our tour to Fraser Island.[/uploads/cbb1eaf0-effd-11e9-a722-ebbd9c9b42f1.jpg_large.jpg][/uploads/110f2e50-effe-11e9-bb23-b7b52f120be2.jpg_large.jpg][/uploads/881c79d0-effe-11e9-a722-ebbd9c9b42f1.jpg_large.jpg][/uploads/8a8abab0-effe-11e9-bb23-b7b52f120be2.jpg_large.jpg]We drove to Rainbow Beach on 'roller coaster' roads. Izzy (our expedition vehicle) was already waiting for us there.[/uploads/08eb49c0-effe-11e9-a722-ebbd9c9b42f1.jpg_large.jpg][/uploads/24a6e5c0-effe-11e9-a722-ebbd9c9b42f1.jpg_large.jpg][/uploads/6eee1860-effe-11e9-a722-ebbd9c9b42f1.jpg_large.jpg][/uploads/34688ef0-effe-11e9-a722-ebbd9c9b42f1.jpg_large.jpg]The ferry then took us to Fraser Island. As soon as we arrived on land, Hansi was almost unstoppable. After a short time, I also drove across the island. (Motto: Who should flash us?)[/uploads/a90aea60-effd-11e9-bb23-b7b52f120be2.jpg_large.jpg][/uploads/312d92c0-efff-11e9-a722-ebbd9c9b42f1.jpg_large.jpg]After about 75km and a few stops (lookouts, shipwreck), we reached the end of the drivable track. At this end are the so-called 'Champagne Pools'.[/uploads/0c4afa10-efff-11e9-a722-ebbd9c9b42f1.jpg_large.jpg][/uploads/992aa030-effe-11e9-a722-ebbd9c9b42f1.jpg_large.jpg]Then we drove to our dingo-safe camp. After setting up and a well-deserved dinner, we took a short walk to the sea at night. I have never seen so many stars and the Milky Way before. On the island, there is simply not as much light pollution as on land.[/uploads/13095b30-efff-11e9-bb23-b7b52f120be2.jpg_large.jpg]TODAY. We went on a discovery tour into the interior of the island. On the way there, we saw some pylons standing on the beach from a distance and a sign 'Caution. Aircraft landing.' So let's stop there. Then we already saw the first plane taking off towards us. As soon as that was out, the next one came flying in for landing. Right on the beach. Next to us. Where else?![/uploads/3838fe40-f006-11e9-a722-ebbd9c9b42f1.jpg_large.jpg][/uploads/e9e79230-effe-11e9-a722-ebbd9c9b42f1.jpg_large.jpg][/uploads/53b68400-efff-11e9-a722-ebbd9c9b42f1.jpg_large.jpg][/uploads/15571bc0-efff-11e9-bb23-b7b52f120be2.jpg_large.jpg][/uploads/9a367570-efff-11e9-a722-ebbd9c9b42f1.jpg_large.jpg]Inside, we were looking for some freshwater lakes. The way there was a bit bumpy. But our Izzy (Isabell) made her way invincibly through the woods and stones. (Mom! Sell my car. I need something bigger!) Some lakes had such white sand that it could have been snow. Others, because of the color of the ground, gave the impression that they were orange. Although the water is crystal clear.[/uploads/a0841360-efff-11e9-bb23-b7b52f120be2.jpg_large.jpg]Coffee break. Afternoon with Mathilda. Best coffee machine.[/uploads/3102d940-efff-11e9-a722-ebbd9c9b42f1.jpg_large.jpg][/uploads/8fb95ea0-efff-11e9-a722-ebbd9c9b42f1.jpg_large.jpg]Relax tomorrow. Swim. A bit of fishing. Just Australian easy going.🤙
