Today we woke up early and fortunately arrived relatively early at Krka National Park. (our sleeping place was only 3 km away from the park.
If someone asked me 'Plitvice or Krka National Park,' I would probably answer 'Krka.' But that may only be because there were fewer visitors. Or maybe it's just because the area was more diverse?
In any case, these waterfalls are simply impressive and really beautiful to look at. Even the second part a little further up was really nice... although the waterfall was rather... well... a bit disappointing for THE big waterfall, but overall really nice to look at.
In any case, we were done with the park in the early afternoon - we didn't have the patience for a 2-hour boat trip with a photo stop at the monastery island, I simply don't like sitting in a tourist boat for almost an hour twice.
Afterwards, we drove through the mountainous hinterland and then along the coast to Togir. I have to say, I enjoy cruising with Johann and Michelle and Michelle's homemade rock playlist, which I happened to find in a closet on the day of our departure.
The area is beautiful, the sea is so blue, and the temperature is so pleasant, not too hot, not too cold, a delight.
Today we are staying at a spot we found with Park4Night, an app for motorhome travelers. After foolishly thinking that in the off-season it would be no problem to get a NICE, no not just any parking lot-like spot at the end of the area, at a campsite... we were proven wrong. After driving through narrow alleys - with stone walls stacked on both sides - we were told: full! In the off-season! Crazy... But actually lucky, because now we're right by the sea, with one or two interesting neighbors (one of whom I managed to get a tour of their motorhome from) and only the navigation lights of the little fishing boats shimmering out at sea... Romantic overload!! We should have done some shopping beforehand, but now we have the opportunity to unpack our yeast and try some kind of flatbread... we're curious ;)
