Time to surf!

After breakfast, we head to the beach of Canggu to look for an affordable surfboard rental. We park our scooter just outside the promenade and walk the rest of the way.

Relatively quickly, we decide against going surfing, as both the waves and the reef, which is half a meter below the water surface, are more suitable for professionals. After that, we spend an hour searching the beach for a nice and affordable café and only find one where we started.

We spend the rest of the afternoon there with cool drinks and a great view of the surfers.

When we make our way back, we stop at a small local snack bar that sells Nasi Campur (reminder: rice topped with various fried, boiled, and fried things). Since the two older ladies running the shop simply do not understand us, Jonna is allowed behind the counter to put our food together. We may not be able to communicate with them, but the women laugh and cackle even more.

The food is delicious and we return to our room with full stomachs and happiness.

The second day (17.08) is absolutely identical. We go to the beach in the morning, once again realize that the waves are a bit too big for us, and without much searching, we sit in the nice beach bar and spend the afternoon there. Once again, we pay a visit to the two funny ladies to eat Nasi Campur. Jonna immediately gets handed the tongs again to serve herself. It's delicious once again!

The evening is just as uneventful as the previous one. We jump in the pool once more, get a snack for the evening, and then go to bed.
